But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
Review: If you haven't read this epic book yet, DO IT NOW. I'm not sure what you are waiting for. The plot is thrilling, unique, and utterly captivating. The characters are eccentric, different, and intriguing. The narrator is Katniss, an intelligent and skeptic heroine who power punches through the novel. The novel includes humor, thrill, and enough action to keep you biting your nails to the quick. I LOVE PEETA. He is so caring and sweet. You will totally fall. Katniss is no typical girl. She has known trouble and she is very strong willed. You will enjoy her wit, strength, and passion. This story is just perfect. Literally. I loved it. You will be enthralled from the very first page to the last. I also find it important. As most books do, this includes a deeper understanding into the human experience and our futures as people. There is a lot of content here to ponder, and even though this will probably never happen I find it to be true in many ways. The government controls us now in so many ways. It's good to have leaders, but as human beings, we have to remember that we still have a voice and we can still change the world and make it better. It never just "is what it is". We need to learn to make our own choices, yes? This is a powerful story. And as if that isn't enough, it includes surprises just wild and interesting enough to keep a reader on the edge of their seat. You will hardly see the cover once you begin this book. You won't want to close it or stop reading. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Amazing!
By the way, there are movies made of the series. This is a trilogy. Personally, I love the movies. I think they portray the story and characters in a respectable and true way. I recommend watching them after you read the whole trilogy. It's definitely worth your time if you enjoy film.
