Title: The Gentleman Mentor
Author: Kendall Ryan
Genre: Erotic Romance
Rating: 2/5
Description: She’s a client. That’s all.
Or it should be. But with every lesson, she’s becoming more. The secrets I’m hiding behind the image of the Gentleman Mentor make telling her the truth—and having anything real—impossible. I’m training her for another man, and that fact guts me every time I think of it. I know she’s not mine … but part of me won’t accept that. Am I willing to risk it all to keep her?
He calls himself the Gentleman Mentor.
Just reading his ad makes me feel more alive than I have in years. He promises to teach me the art of seduction … and show me the most sinfully erotic pleasures. He’s going to help me become the kind of confident, sexy woman men can’t ignore. Six lessons … with the most gorgeous man … who happens to be a Dom. The only problem … now that I’ve experienced his brand of delectable domination will anyone else ever compare?
Review: First of all, I am wondering what I can say about this book without being a total jerk...I read so many great reviews for this and thought that it would be amazing. It wasn't. I am basically just going to critique this quickly for you. This was supposed to be erotic. It was. It was also meant to be romantic. It wasn't. The book is short. The relationship between the two main characters develops WAY TOO FAST. One second he doesn't want her to even call him by his name and the next he is falling for her? It's silly. It's not believable in any way. The writing is alright, but it isn't great. I feel like the story could have had potential were it rewritten. I don't know. This could be a case of "It's just me" , like I am one of the only ones who don't like it much. I gave it 2 stars because yes, some of the sex scenes were steamy and hot. That was a nice job. The rest was just awful. I hate to say that, but I am being honest in this review. I am not hard to satisfy, but I do love good writing and good plot. Romance is a favorite, but if you can only execute a few sex scenes, you aren't writing novel. You're just writing porn. I wanted to like this. I felt like it had some nice parts, but as a whole, it didn't work. It didn't make me care. YOU MUST MAKE ME CARE, AUTHORS. THAT IS YOUR JOB. Honestly, I skipped a lot of sex scenes and rushed to the end. It just wasn't good. I started it, so I made myself finish it, but I would not recommend this if you like erotic romances. This was just a waste of time.
