Title: Obsidian (Lux: book one)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5/5 stars
Description: Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is
Review: Sweet baby alien...this book was amazing. From the first sentence, I was pulled in. Everything about it is captivating. This is a fast-paced read and highly enjoyable. The characters are rich, so full of humor and likability-even when they are bad. The romance between Katy and Daemon is heated, passionate, and undeniable despite all their bickering. I loved this and will definitely re-read it. There is a really cool alien story wrapped up in all this steamy love and it's so interesting that you just can't stop reading. Think how fast you Twilight-this is even faster. If you want to "get back" into reading, I suggest picking up this book today! And if you are already an avid reader, then add this to your list. It is so worth your time if you give it a chance. I can't believe I waited so long to read it! Can't wait to finish the second one for review. This series is going to be great, I'm sure!
